The Sickness of Dragons

From a throne of frozen fire and melted bone, I basked in glory felt as the world knelt before me and my brethren. As we gave them strength, knowledge and power, they sought only to escape the bonds of mortal existence. So they became nothing.

A second chance given, when slaves of ash desired freedom, we formed pacts of power for us to be gifted the eternal slumber of gods in return. But in the end we were betrayed — a curse of madness cast upon us, tearing us from our long deserved sleep, a spell conjured by way of the very same faith that once had granted us our godhood.

We fell with thunder — fiery meteors burning through the skies; knives drawn across our necks; spells piercing our minds; our bodies rotting from within.

Now we seek to reclaim our rightful reward; the world shall be consumed by our flame and all shall know of the true silence of eternal sleep; together in void, we become the restful gods of the forever more.
