In the Forest of Stars
The bright lumedali, the ashen hecini, and the forgotten tenebrim, all parts of the bent beasts; the twisted beauties; the elven folk. The repetition of three-in-one is seen in all.
Created by the twisting energies of the Vitiate these elven folk where once orcish yugscha, living on the varied planes of the once-one lands of EA. One of these twisted orc folk we call the bright ones, the lumedali. They are tall and beautiful, sharp featured bearing light, white and blue, skin with slender frames and long pointed ears. Their eyes glow like stars and suns, proof of their innate arcane command. Their twisted cousins are the free-spirited and nature-corrupting satyrs.
children of The Deep Tree
When the Vitiate warped the very lands of our beloved titan, the forces once-named-KISH touched the yugscha located in the woods of Noroelthwin. The wild magical nature of The Deep Tree were thrust through rifts rendered between Vald’vena and the material plane of EA, mingled with the arcane magics from the Above, it stretched and twisted the orcs creating the bright elves. The elves found themselves beautiful and were determined to leave their orcish heritage behind them and instead listened to the arcane nature of the forests and stars for guidance.
They created a language and script more akin to the cadence of sylvan song than the harsh orcish runes of primordial speech. They found new names for the stars and sun above, worshipping their beauty among the flowers of the forest. They adopted art, music and culture similar to the fae of Vald’vena, futher gaining the fae folks’ arrogance and imagined superiority.
Guided by the Sun and Stars
The lumedali thanked the heavenly bodies for their newfound beauty. The sun was given the name of Mírnaleth, mother of warmth. And the moons were given the names of Naru’Ithil and Thind’Ithil, the red and white daughters. Reading the star between the heavenly bodies was almost second nature for the bright ones, leading them to futures foreseen and destinies already known. But the knowledge of stars slowly became a priviledge of the leading elite, leaving wanting learners to leave their pride behind and seek out dwarven star-readers to learn the arts. An act leading to exile.
The lumedali live under the rule of the sun-blessed, a family of royals whose eyes have been touched by the solar mother herself. It is said that those that dare look upon the beauty of the sun-blessed have their eyes scorched by their absolute radiance, bringing about immense pain and rendering them forever blind. Sun-blessed are rarely born among the common folk, but when this occurs they are quickly collected by the royal guard and integrated into the family of the Sun. The lumedali have never stood wihout a sun-blessed leader.
The Voidstar War
Not long after the Vitiate the enlightened lumedali ran into their twisted cousins, the tenebrim, the dark void elves. The two elven races clashed in culture and understanding, the dark oblivion of the devil worshipping tenebrim directly opposing the arcane nature of the bright ones. This was the start of what was later called the Voidstar war, a hundred year-long conflict that ended only when the legendary king Míremel called on the stars and let them rain down upon the battlefield, destroying much of Noroelthwin. The Starfall seperated the eastern mountain range and the western forests by creating a scar of dead and smoldering, black earth; a great wound through the very mantle of the land.
Masters of Dreamweaving
The arcane knowledge of the lumedali are sought after by many, especially the Tirs that lack the gift of innate magic and developed a technique to use magic thread, spun by of elves, to cast arcane spells and incantations. The use of the magic weave came soon after the bright ones and the Tirs met for the first time on the shores of eastern Gustelhos. This was also why the Order of the Weavers was later created, to regulate and teach the use of the magical fabric.
Living long and sorrowful lives after the Voidstar war the arcane threads were used to create dreamweave, giving the user curated dreams while asleep, lending to great satisfaction and bliss; reliving moments together with lost ones, just for a night forgetting the immense loneliness many elves felt. This is further encouraged by the royal family, prefering a numb people to effortlessly rule over.
